Skip and Diane Kickey celebrate 50th anniversary

On June 7, 1968, Alfred “Skip” Kickey and Diane Cromer were married at Rosewood Baptist Church in Columbia. A former USC of South Carolina basketball player who played for the legendary Frank McGuire, Skip Kickey met young Diane for the first time in an art class at USC. Diane, the only daughter of the late John Henr y and L’Era Br yant Cromer, wasn’t sure if her South Carolina roots would mix well with the New Jersey ways of young Skip. As time went on, their love grew. Skip went on to own and run a thriving awards business in Columbia, Dixie Trophies. Before her retirement in 2003, Diane was a schoolteacher in Columbia schools. Following their marriage, Diane and Skip had two daughters, Dana Kickey Yow (Max) of Blythewood and Krissy Kickey of Columbia. They have been blessed with one grandson, Joshua Alfred Yow. On June 8, 2018, Skip and Diane celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family at their home in Arcadia Lakes, S.C. They pray they can share many more special times together in the years to come.On June 7, 1968, Alfred “Skip” Kickey and Diane Cromer were married at Rosewood Baptist Church in Columbia.
