Dragonfly program offered at Sesquicentennial State Park

Sesquicentennial State Park is offering a dragonfly program Saturday, June 30 at 10 a.m.

The program, “Dragons and Damsels,” will explore the amazing lives of dragonflies and damselflies. Participants will learn about their life cycles and other fascinating facts and then take a short walk in search of some of the park’s resident insect predators.

The program fees are $7 per adult, $5 for children 15 and under , and $ 5.50 for seniors, and include park admission. The program is free for all Park Passport Plus holders. This program is recommended for ages seven and older. Adults must accompany children 15 and under. Preregistration is required and space is limited. Participants should meet at the park office and are encouraged to dress appropriately for being outdoors. Participants may also bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and water.

Sesquicentennial State Park is located on Two Notch Road in northeast Columbia. The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with extended hours during Daylight Saving Time. For more information on South Carolina’s state parks, visit www.SouthCarolinaParks.com.
