Newest Eagle from state’s oldest troop



Eagle Scout Graham S. Hope, left, Troop 5 Scoutmaster Henry Hall and Hope’s father, Marion “Bubba” Hope at Shandon Presbyterian Church, sponsor of Troop 5, the state’s oldest Boy Scout troop. Hope was presented his Eagle award and Eagle Gold Palm, Boy Scouts highest rank, in a ceremony at the church April 29. Graham is a student at Sandhills School with a 3.92 GPA and has been a scout since 2013. He will continue on with Troop 5 as its assistant scoutmaster.
