Silver Foxes rally to beat Valley

Photo by Perry McLeod Dutch Fork’s Kerry Eaddy scored a game-high 20 points to lead the visiting Silver Foxes to a 51-45 win over the Spring Valley Vikings in a Region V-5A boys’ basketball battle Tuesday, February 6.

Jarvis McClurkin added 11 for Dutch Fork, and Jaedon Williams and Tyrik McDaniel both finished with nine points. Chase Raymond completed the scoring for the Silver Foxes with two points.

Jacobie Elkins led the Vikings with 13 points. Jamal Williams got nine, Rashaad Williams chipped in seven, Axel Alicea had six, KiAndre Jones got five, Julian Smith had four, and Antwann Moore finished with a free throw for Spring Valley.

The Vikings jumped out to an 18-14 first quarter lead. Elkins led the way with seven points. Dutch Fork stayed close with four each from Eaddy and McDaniel.

Spring Valley extended its advantage to 34-26 at the break. Elkins and Jamal Williams each had five points, and Rashaad Williams had four for the Vikings. Eaddy got four more for the Silver Foxes.

Spring Valley went cold in the third quarter scoring just six points. Jones had three of those. Dutch Fork got four from Eaddy and a 3- pointer from Williams to cut the deficit to 40-37 going into the final eight minutes.

The Silver Fox defense went to work again in the fourth holding the Vikings to five points for the quarter, while Eaddy chipped in six himself. McDaniels added five, and Dutch Fork came away with the victory.
