Granby DAR celebrates 237th anniversary of the Battle of Cowpens

Kathy Aull, Carolyn McKnight and Carey Ann Blankenship Kathy Aull, Carolyn McKnight and Carey Ann Blankenship Lexington’s Granby DAR members Kathy Aull, Carey Anne Blankenship, Maria L. Cole, Carolyn McKnight, and Miriam Lovett attended the 237th Anniversary of The Battle of Cowpens on January 14, 2018, to lay wreaths in honor of the patriots who fought to win an American victory over British forces.

Festivities began at Cowpens National Park on January 13 which included battleground tours, 18th Century music, 18th Century cavalry and firing demonstrations, author and historian talks, and many other activities.

Daughters of The American Revolution, Children of The American Revolution, and Sons of The American Revolution had many exciting and historical events to participate in on this weekend of freedom celebration.
