Heyward Career and Technology Center to host Career Showcase for Richland One parents

Contributed by Richland One Schools

Richland One offers high school students many advantages, such as learning career skills before entering college or the workplace. Students also can receive certifications in automotive and diesel technology, welding, cosmetology, culinary arts, and other trades while in high school.

Heyward Career and Technology Center will host a Career Showcase Thursday, February 1, where parents of Richland One middle and high school students can learn about Heyward’s career and technical programs through hands-on demonstrations.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. at the Heyward Career and Technology Center, 3560 Lynhaven Drive.

The Career Showcase will feature local business partners who have employed Richland One students, as well as information on the various industry certifications available through Richland One programs.

With programs in the areas of business, information systems, engineering and industrial technology, and health and human services, Heyward Career and Technology Center offers high school students the chance to achieve industry certifications, preparing them for a smooth transition into the workplace or postsecondary education after high school.
