The South Carolina Debutante Ball presents 18 debutantes

The South Carolina Debutante Ball presented sixteen daughters, two granddaughters and four nieces on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Forest Lake Club.

The debutante daughters and granddaughters, along with the members presenting them, received guests at a reception prior to the ball. Also receiving guests and seated at the head table were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gage Davidson Jr, chairman of the board; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Steven Graf, president of the ball; Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Barr, president-elect and chairman of the ball; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clarke Schraibman, vicepresident and co-chairman of the ball.

The granddaughters presented were Miss Hannah Leadley Cureton, granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Henley Hall Hurt Jr., escorted by Mr. Robert Allen Pope, and Miss Mary Kathryn Macaulay McGregor, granddaughter of Mrs. William Strother Durham Jr. and the late Mr. William Strother Durham Jr., escorted by Mr. Wilson Walker McDonald, Jr.

The nieces presented were Miss Margaret Mae Adams, escorted by Mr. Jackson Lee Adams; Miss Reagan Adele Adams, escorted by Mr. Wesley David Adams; Miss Anne Barnwell Jenkins, escorted by Mr. Robert Gage Davidson III; and Miss Caroline Neal Strom, escorted by Mr. Preston Bradford Holt.

The debutantes each carried a hand-tied bouquet of open red roses with seasonal greenery accents wrapped in ivory silk ribbon. Sons of members attending the Ball for the first time were Mr. Thomas Gray Barr, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Barr; Mr. Frederick William Dreyer IV, son of Dr. and Mrs. Frederick William Dreyer III; Mr. Everett Elias Watts Eaddy, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Paul Eaddy Jr.; Mr. Robert Gage Davidson III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gage Davidson Jr.; Mr. James Charles Locke, son of Dr. and Mrs. Mark Douglas Locke; Mr. Bradford Daniel Long, son of Dr. and Mrs. David Lynn Long; and Mr. Clayton Albert Moise, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Harold Moise.

Following the presentation and debutante figure led by Miss Nancy Welch Graf, the members, debutantes and guests enjoyed a seated dinner and danced to the music of the Dick Goodwin Band. After dinner, coffee was served in the foyer. Other officers of the ball are Mr. Gregory James Hughes, treasurer; and Dr. and Mrs. George Alexander Jenkins III, secretary.
