Earning the honors were Senior Michaela Catoe ( Alto I); Juniors Kathryn Alexander (Alto I), Chandler Bree (Baritone), Lisa Ortuno (Alto I), and Jerry Windhorn (Baritone); Sophomores Marvin Boyd ( Bass), Khaleel Hunter (Tenor II), and Jacob Rabino (Baritone). This is each singers first time being selected and many of their first times auditioning.

These students will return to Winthrop University in March 2018 to perform with the best singers in South Carolina.

“ These students spent extra time together during lunch and met up before and after school unprompted,” BHS Choir Director Kristin Claiborne said. “Some of those students fought tooth and nail to make it this far, literally from the ground up, and I just couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Even for the students who didn’t make it, they represented our school quite well, and they gave me another uplifting glimpse at this program’s potential.”
