Well Suited: The Costumes of Alonzo V. Wilson for HBO’s® Treme exhibition opening reception will be held August 1, at McKissick Museum, University of South Carolina, 816 Bull Street. The exhibition will continue until July 21, 2018.

McKissick’s newest yearlong exhibition Well Suited: The Costumes of Alonzo V. Wilson for HBO’s® Treme showcases nine exquisitely crafted Mardi Gras Indian suits from select characters of this influential series. This exhibit includes design sketches, film excerpts, video interviews with cast and costumers, and behind-the-scenes photography.

McKissick Mixer with Alonzo V. Wilson will be Tuesday, August 1, 5:30–6:30 p.m. This informal members-only gathering will include a behind-the-scenes gallery tour with Treme Costume Designer Alonzo V. Wilson and executive producer Nina K. Noble.

The exhibition opening reception will be held Tuesday, August 1, 6:30–8 p.m. Come celebrate the spirit of resilience as McKissick kicks off this year-long exhibition. Join Treme Costume Designer Alonzo V. Wilson and executive producer Nina K. Noble as they share stories about the making of Treme and its elaborate costumes. Enjoy delicacies from Bourbon and music provided by the Amos Hoffman & Sam Edwards Duo.

This traveling exhibition has been organized by the Cameron Art Museum, Wilmington, N.C., and was originally organized by the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans, La.
