LongHorn in the Vista hires new managing partner

Brittany Reid Brittany Reid Brittany Reid has worked in the restaurant business since she was 14. A native of Covington, Georgia, Reid received a bachelor of science in hotel and restaurant management from Georgia Southern University. Her first management position with LongHorn Steakhouse was in Macon, Georgia, where she served as assistant manager for five years.

While attending a regional management conference for LongHorn Steakhouse, Reid found out about the opportunity in Columbia and applied and received the promotion to be managing partner for the Columbia Vista location.

There are three LongHorn Steakhouses in Columbia, founded by local restaurateur, Bill Dukes, also the founder of the Blue Marlin Seafood Restaurant just across Gervais Street in the Vista. Columbia’s LongHorn Steakhouses are located on Gervais Street in the Vista, Decker Boulevard, and Harbison Boulevard.

According to Reid, the Vista location is her favorite restaurant and in the five weeks she has lived in Columbia since taking this new position, she says she already feels like family.

Reid will oversee a staff of 50 employees. She says the majority of the staff of LongHorn Steakhouse in the Vista are University of South Carolina students, and she is always looking for more people to join their team.

Her favorite part of working for the Long- Horn Steakhouse company is the continuous training and development available to their employees. She says there are several certifications available for staff including certified trainers and certified culinary professionals.

Reid says there is great opportunity for mobility to management levels within the company for all employees at all times.

Reid is looking forward to her husband Josh and two stepdaughters joining her in their new home in Columbia soon.
