Help Cinderella get to the ball

S.C. Bar Young Lawyers collect formal gowns for annual Cinderella Project

The S.C. Bar Young Lawyers Division ( YLD)is sponsoring its annual Cinderella Project, which provides gently worn formal, bridesmaid and prom dresses for young women who lack the financial resources to buy a gown for their high school prom.

Clean dresses in all sizes, as well as evening bags, jewelry, shoes, and other accessory donations are being accepted through March 7 and can be dropped off at any of the following Columbia-area locations: • M Boutique, 702 Cross Hill Road, Ste. 400 • Richardson Plowden, 1900 Barnwell Street • Rogers Townsend, 220 Executive Center Drive • WLTX-TV, 6027 Garners Ferry Road • Lexington Chamber of Commerce, 311 W. Main Street, Lexington • LICS, 216 Harmon Street, Lexington • Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce, 1248 Lake Murray Boulevard, Irmo • Chapin Chamber of Commerce, 302 Columbia Avenue, Chapin • W. Metro Chamber of Commerce, 1006 12th Street, Cayce

A boutique will be held Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m. to noon, Brookland Baptist Church, 1066 Sunset Boulevard, West Columbia, to give the girls an opportunity to “shop” for dresses at no cost. Girls from all area schools are invited to attend and must bring their student IDs.
