Heise was honored at the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention held in Kansas City, Missouri. In late December, Heise was named the NSCAA High School South Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

In addition to his role with Bearcat soccer, Heise is the founder and director of SCSoccer.com—the official website of the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association (SCHSSCA). In 2010, Heise established an annual scholarship in the memory of his infant daughter, Kylie Marie, who passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Outside the prep game, Heise serves as secretary for the CRSA, online play-by-play announcer for the University of South Carolina’s men’s and women’s soccer teams, and is an ardent supporter of the Arsenal F.C.
