Providence NE to undergo $38.4 million renovation and expansion
Providence Hospital’s Board of Trustees approved a $38.4 million plan for enhancing orthopaedic care and general medical services through expansions and renovations at Providence Hospital Northeast.
Overall, the project will expand the facility by adding 38 new beds and provide an estimated 75-100 additional employment opportunities. Construction plans include significant renovations and new construction to both the main hospital building and the adjacent office building.
New construction will include an energy plant, an added MRI service, a new main entrance and canopy, along with an expansion of the front lobby, PACU, and central sterile processing. Areas to be renovated on the first floor include emergency, pre-op/recovery, surgery, central sterile, and admissions departments. Patient care areas on the third floor will also be renovated.
Providence’s senior leadership selected Carolinasbased KBR Building Group to provide construction services, which account for $14 million of the project planned for the Providence Hospital Northeast building.
