Airport High School JROTC drill team earns first place overall at championship event
The Airport High School JROTC Drill team earned First Place Overall December 3 at the Greater Midlands Area League Championship Drill Meet and qualified for the State Championship in January. They also placed in the following: First Place Basic Platoon w/o Arms, First Place Basic Platoon w/ Arms, First Place Platoon Inspection w/ Arms, First Place Basic Squad w/o Arms, First Place Fancy Squad w/o Arms, First Place Fancy Platoon w/ Arms, Second Place Color Guard, Second Place Basic Squad w/ Arms, Second Place Fancy Platoon w/o Arms, Third Place Fancy Individual w/ Arms, Third Place Fancy Duet w/ Arms, and Third Place Fancy Squad w/ Arms. The AHS JROTC is led by CSM® Harry S. Ferguson. Prior to the December 3 event, the AHS Drill team had placed First Overall at four other Greater Midlands Area Drill Meets.
