Miss Theus and Mr. Colpini marry in Eastminster Presbyterian Church
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Tyler Colpini were married August 13, 2011, at six thirty in the evening at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Bradley Donald Smith. Music was provided by Louis Lasley Shirer, organist, and Dr. Randolph DeYo Love, trumpeter.
Mrs. Colpini, the former Lilla Wyman Theus, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison Theus of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Frank Johnstone Dana and the late Mrs. Dana, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Walter Wyman Theus, all of Columbia. The bride is a graduate of A.C. Flora High School, received a B. S. degree in math and physics from Washington and Lee University and is pursuing an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Colpini is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Anthony William Colpini of Carrollton, Georgia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan J. Warren of Columbia and Lieutenant Colonel Frank Paul Colpini, U.S.A.R., and the late Mrs. Colpini of Hillsborough, New Jersey. A graduate of A.C. Flora High School, the bridegroom received a B.A. degree in business economics from Wofford College. Mr. Colpini is employed by Harvard Management Company.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. The maids of honor were her sisters, Laura Dana Theus and Julia Smith Theus. Other attendants were Caroline Paige Colpini of Carrollton, Georgia, sister of the bridegroom; Jenny-Gray Ruffin Childs and Laurie Elizabeth Traywick, both of Columbia; Caroline Giles Mann, Lauren Talbot Johnson, and Susan Elizabeth Summers, all of Washington, D.C.; Katherine Bowen Halligan of Mobile, Alabama; Lillian Maxwell Bellamy Haywood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sarah Stansbury Johnson of New Orleans, Louisiana; Landrum Johnston Knight of Greenville, South Carolina; and Nina McClenaghan Knowlton of London, England.
Dr. Colpini served as his son’s best man. The groomsmen in the wedding party were the bridegroom’s brother, Austin Patrick Colpini of Atlanta, Georgia; Christopher Samuel Atkinson, William Johnson Fairey, Wesley Earle Henderson, and Fred Stafford Kelly all of Charlotte, North Carolina; George Parks Bunch, David Michael Ellison, and Evan Mark Hobbs, all of Columbia; Owen Patrick Jordan of Baltimore, Maryland; Walter McNeel Keenan III of Washington, D. C.; and William Robertson Prevost of Charleston, South Carolina.
Ushers were Michael Clark Roberts Jr. of Columbia, William Byron Barber III of New York City, and Thomas Jacob Smith of Charleston.
Guests were greeted by Katherine Ford Chiasson of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Grayson Brice Wallace of Athens, Georgia.
A reception followed at Forest Lake Club.
After a wedding trip to Virgin Gorda, the couple will reside in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
