She taught many generations of students during her 54–year tenure with the district. She taught French at Columbia High, and she taught French and English at Booker T. Washington High.

Madame Hall passed away in the early–morning hours August 26, 2010, at her residence. She was 87 years old.

“Madame Hall will be remembered for her dedicated service to Richland One and, most importantly, to the hundreds of students whose lives she touched,” said Richland One Superintendent Dr. Percy Mack.

Madame Hall’s many accomplishments include having been named Teacher of the Year at Columbia High several times over the years. She also was nominated by her students to appear on the

Oprah show. She published

her first book, Running

Through the Scary Woods, in February of this year.

“Mom would want the community, and particularly her students, to know how much she loved them,” said her daughter, Raichelle “Rai” Glover.
