Miss DePass and Mr. Byron exchange vows July 31, 2010

Mrs. Joseph Nazaire Byron III Mrs. Joseph Nazaire Byron III Martha Barham DePass of Columbia and Joseph Nazaire Byron III of St. George, South Carolina were married at high noon Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Smith Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church (ARP) of Columbia. The Reverend Thomas Duffy James performed the ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. John Harold Doudoukjian, organist; Pipe Major William Porcher DuBose III; and Michael Raymond Pegram, drummer.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Brunson DePass Jr. of Columbia and the granddaughter of Mrs. Marshall Joyner Parker of Seneca, S.C., the late Mr. Parker, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Brunson DePass of Rock Hill, S.C. She graduated from Chatham Hall in Chatham, Virginia, and attended Clemson University.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Thomas Kittrell III of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Nazaire Byron Jr. of Dorchester, S.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Kenneth Lewis Steely of Goose Creek, S.C., the late Mr. Steely, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nazaire Byron of Moncks Corner, S.C. He attended Presbyterian College, was graduated from the University of South Carolina. He is currently a student at Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Miss Caroline Marshall DePass was her sister’s maid of honor. The matron of honor was Mrs. Thomas Ryan Comer of Columbia. Miss Elizabeth Grace Comer of Columbia was the flower girl and Master Ethan Richard Reid of Greenville, nephew of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer.

Dr. Byron was his son’s best man. The groomsmen were Mr. Charles Thomas Watts of Aiken, S.C.; Mr. Adam Richard Reid of Simpsonville, S.C., brother– in–law of the bridegroom; and Captain William Brunson DePass III, currently serving with the South Carolina National Guard in Afghanistan, brother of the bride.

A reception and luncheon at the Palmetto Club followed the ceremony. After a wedding trip the couple will reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
