Two Troop 10 scouts receive eagle Scout award
Marshall Keenan (l) and Donald Fawcett Eastminster’s Troop 10 and the Indian Waters Council of the Boy Scouts of America presented the Eagle Scout Award to Donald Richardson Fawcett and William Joseph Marshall Keenan Sunday, August 8. The ceremony was held in the Dorothy Walker Chapel at Hammond School.
Marshall Keenan is the son of Adair Floyd and the late Christopher deGraffenried Keenan. He is the grandson of William Joseph and the late Margaret Jones Keenan, and George McKiever and Molly Marshall Floyd.
Marshall attended Satchel Ford Elementary School, Hammond School, Christ School, and graduated from Cardinal Newman High School. He will attend Spartanburg Methodist College.
Marshall’s Eagle project was done with the Ultimate Eagle Scout Tom Mancke, Naturalist–in– Residence at Hammond School. Along with the other Eagle Scouts, family, and friends, he constructed a portable wildlife blind to be used for wildlife studies.
Donald Fawcett is the son of Deans and Peter Fawcett. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald V. Richardson and Colonel and Mrs. John R. Fawcett, and the late Mrs. Patricia K. Fawcett.
Donald is a rising freshman at Hammond School.
For his Eagle project, Donald raised money for, obtained supplies, and provided leadership to refurbish the Hammond Preschool/ Kindergarten playground.
His team of over 15 volunteers handmade three benches, removed a large area of concrete (saving the pieces to be recycled for a retaining wall), sanded the existing equipment, and replenished the sandbox and play area.
