Kristen Jackson Kristen Jackson When Kristin Jackson was a toddler, her parents never thought she would go to college. They never thought their child would have a normal life because of her profound hearing loss and subsequent speaking disabilities. But Kristin has overcome these obstacles and is now an A.C. Flora High School graduate set to attend Claflin University in the fall in pursuit of a pharmacy career.

In addition, Kristin is the first–ever recipient of the McAlister Foundation Scholarship, an award that ensures full financial coverage up to four years from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB).

Because of her drive and determination for success, Kristin has overcome adversity and paved a path for a future filled with accomplishments.
