Amateur Ballroom Dancers to host Diabetes Charity Ball

The Greater Columbia Chapter of the U.S. Amateur Bal l room Dancers Association (USADance) will hold a special Diabetes Char i ty Bal l on Saturday, September 25, wi th al l proceeds going to the Amer ican Diabetes Associat ion. This event will be held at the Hugh Dimmery Memor ial Center ( The Barn) , 680 Cherokee Lane, West Columbia, from 7 to 11 p.m.

Admission is $15. Non–alcohol ic dr inks, refreshments and snacks will be available, and a complimentary dance lesson wi th professional instructor will be offered from 7:15 until 7:45. In addi t ion, USADance will be holding three Beginner Ballroom Dance workshops in September, also to benefit the American Diabetes Association. These workshops will also be held at the Barn and will be taught by professional dance compet i tor and inst ructor Shei la Brown. These workshops will teach Beginner Shag and Beginner Fox Trot and will be held on Saturdays, September 4, September 11, and September 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. The cost of these workshops is $10 each, or all three for $25.
