Vacation Bible school students raise money for bulletproof vests

Vacation Bible School students at Eastminster Presbyterian Church on Trenholm Road recently raised and collected $1,000 for In–Vest USA, a Richland County–based charity that raises funds to equip law enforcement officers with bulletproof vests. The theme of the Vacation Bible School, held June 21–24, was “Heroes,” and the students chose to recognize law enforcement as community heroes. Pictured with the students are Vacation Bible School director Harper Ames, In–Vest USA founder Michael Letts, and Columbia Police Department South Region officers Matt Buck and J. Schmidt.
