Airport advances to District V final

Derek Cushman (top left) scores on Dylan Parker’s sacrifice fly to left field, which gave Airport a 3–0 lead in the first inning against Camden Tuesday, May 4. The run scored on the first play after the game resumed. It had been suspended Monday with Airport leading the District V tournament elimination game 2–0 and having the bases loaded. Airport went on to win 7–4. Jordan Williams (top right) connects on a pitch during the second inning against Camden at Airport High School. Though the hit was an infield bouncer, Williams reached safely on a throwing error. The Eagles eliminated Camden and advanced to the final of the District V tournament on Wednesday, May 5 needing to win twice against South Aiken to advance to the Lower State bracket.
