Highlanders shatter state records

Photo by Bill Cherry Heathwood Hall’s Joseph English broke his own record in the triple jump with a jump of 44’–8.5” at the SCISA State Track Meet held Saturday, May 1 at Heathwood Hall.

Mac Whalen also broke his own record on the pole vault with a vault of 13’–2.5”. The 4x800 relay team of Rob dozier, Will Dubose, Matt Bagnal, and Preston Frankstone broke another state record for Heathwood Hall with a time of 8:59.69.

The Highlander boys finished second to Wilson Hall for the team title. Hammond came in fifth, while Ben Lippen finished in 12th place. Wilson Hall also took the girls’ team title, while Heathwood Hall and Hammond finished fourth and fifth respectively.
