tJarvis Klapman Blvd., 1700 block: A man was stopped and arrested at 12:30 am Wednesday after police saw him driving 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. Unfortunately for the driver, he whizzed past the police department at that speed and was drifting over the lines dividing the lanes as well. When officers caught up with him, he had no license except one from another country so he was charged with reckless driving and for not having a valid SC license. He said he didn’t realize he needed a new license to drive in this country as we drive the same way as in his country.
tPeggy Butler Ballfield: A woman called police at 2 pm Wednesday after she said a man threatened to kill her. The woman said the man mistakenly thought she had caused the death of one of his family members, and he and another member of his family had been threatening her for seven years. She said that this time the threats had escalated, and the man told her that while nothing could bring his cousin back, he was still going to shoot her. She said he then raised his shirt and showed her the gun in his waist band.
tSunset Blvd., 900 block: A man was arrested at 1 pm Wednesday after he was pulled over for an improper lane change, and police smelled marijuana on him. The officer asked him if he had anything on him he needed to confess, but the man said he only had a small amount of marijuana in his backpack. When officers checked they found several baggies of the drug that looked to be street ready for sale. They also found a scale commonly used to weigh the drug that had residue of pot on it. The man insisted all of the pot was for his personal use and indicated the scales were for accuracy.
tB Avenue, 1000 block: Police were called to a home at 9 am Tuesday after a woman said she was being harassed by a man she had never met. The 20–year–old woman told officers she had met the 32–year–old man on an internet chat line and after a few days, she became bored and tried to end their relationship. She said the man then went crazy and began texting and calling her non–stop telling her how much he loved her and that it deeply disappointed him that she wanted to end their relationship. The woman said they never had a relationship and had never even met each other. While she didn’t want to press charges, she told officers she wanted the phone calls to end.

tTwo Notch Road, 7300 block: Police are looking for a man who stole a $40 DVD player at 7 pm Monday. A store employee said the man came in wearing baggy shorts and began to look around in the electronics department. They said he picked up the DVD player and took it out of the box, put the box back on the shelf , and stuffed the DVD player down the front of his shorts. When a store employee confronted him, he told her it was his DVD player, and he had brought it in to see which DVD’s would play in it. He then bolted out the door.
tAlcott Drive, 500 block: A woman called police at 12:30 am Sunday after she said that a woman she knew cracked her windshield. The woman said that she and the accused woman had gotten into a verbal argument over a birthday party, and she left the locations. She said the other woman followed her home, and when she wouldn’t come to the door, the other woman threw something at her car and cracked her windshield.
tDecker Blvd. 2600 block: Police were called to a bar at 5:30 am Saturday after a woman reported a man breaking into cars in the lot. When deputies arrived, they found several cars had been burglarized and saw a man running out of the lot. Unfortunately, the thief apparently didn’t realize he had forgotten his car, and he tried to hide in a nearby business. When deputies caught up with him they already had all of his identifying information from the license plate, and he admitted that the car was his, since it was registered to him. He initially claimed to know nothing about having several CD players on his front seat, but when a woman from the bar identified one of them as hers and showed the deputies where it fit in her car, the thief said he had just purchased the CD players earlier in the evening from an unknown male. While they were talking to the suspect, officers got a call from yet another victim and when he described his stolen CD player, that too was found in the man’s car.

tFalcon Drive. 100 block: Police were called to a high school at 5:30 pm Wednesday after a parent reported her 15–year–old son had been assaulted. The boy told officers he was on his way to the gym when an older kid jumped him, punched him in the face, and threw him to the ground. The younger boy said the older kid told him to never call him a “punk” again, but the older boy said he had never seen his attacker and never even spoke to him.
tHansford Avenue, 1300 block: Neighbors called police at noon Wednesday after they said two women were fighting in a park. When officers arrived they found a 43- year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman screaming and swearing at each other while threatening to beat each other up. When officers separated them they found out the women were cousins and they were fighting about the ownership of a pair of shoes. After discussing the situation with each woman, the shoes were returned to the mutually agreed upon owner and the cousins went to their respective homes, a report said.
