Miss Lowrey and Mr. Gilbert exchange vows April 10, 2010
Mrs. Chad Lee Gilbert
Mrs. Gilbert, the former Allison Andrews Lowrey, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Emanuel Cromer Sr. of Newberry, South Carolina, and Mrs. John Felton Lowrey and the late Mr. Lowrey of Roberta, Georgia. The bride, formerly of Columbia, is a graduate of Dreher High School and an honor graduate of Clemson University where she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse in the Pediatric Neurology Department of the Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center of the Greenville Hospital System.
Mr. Gilbert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Randy James Gilbert of Blythewood, South Carolina. He is formerly of Summerville, South Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Alvin Francis Desormeaux Sr. of Abbeville, Louisiana, and the late Mr. Desormeaux, and Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard Lee Gilbert of Lafayette, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Summerville High School and Clemson University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He is employed with the CH2MHill Engineering Firm in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. She wore the Priscilla of Boston wedding gown worn by her mother when her parents were married.
Serving as maids of honor were the bride’s sisters: Anna Elizabeth Lowrey of Columbia and Carolyn Collins Lowrey of Greenville. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Leslie Mahaffey Beach; Mrs. Amanda Byars Blackburn; Austin Elise Culbertson; Hallie Holbrook Dempsey; Barrett Elizabeth Fisher; Lauren Elizabeth Miller; Meredith Leigh Miller; Mrs. Frances Cromer Moyd, cousin of the bride; and Mary Anne (Molly) Buchanan Powell. The flower girl and ring bearer were Catherine Collins Moyd and Matthew Alan Moyd, twin cousins of the bride.
Randy James Gilbert served as his son’s best man. The groomsmen in the wedding party were Cameron Bethea Baker; Kevin Howard Bartlett; Russell Rogers Creech; Harry Emanuel Fredrick, cousin of the bridegroom; Michael Brian Keels; Jason Martin Lee, cousin of the bridegroom; and William Matthew Rodgers.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Forest Lake Club. Music was provided by Finess.
Following a wedding trip to Saint Lucia, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert will reside in Greenville, South Carolina.
The bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday evening, April 9, 2010 at The Hall at Senate’s End. Music was provided by The Ross Holmes Band.
