Ridge View student goes to Carnegie Hall

Art teacher Kay Casey with Courtney Reynolds and her award–winning artwork Art teacher Kay Casey with Courtney Reynolds and her award–winning artwork Congratulations to Courtney Reynolds, a Ridge View High School senior, who recently won a Silver Medal in the national competition of the Scholastic Art Awards. Courtney, her family, and her art teacher, Kay Casey, are invited to receive her award at Carnegie Hall in New York City in June.

Courtney is a student in Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art class and is currently completing a 2–D Studio Art portfolio. During her two years as an AP Studio Art student, Courtney acquired these additional accomplishments: a top score of 5 on AP Studio Art Drawing portfolio; second place 11th grade 2–D Award at the 2009 SC State Fair student art competition; and the American Visions Award, 2 certificates of merit, and a Gold Key Portfolio award at the 2010 SC Scholastic Art Awards.
