Six funds lost $2 billion

S.C. Attorney General Henry Dargan McMaster is investigating investment advisors who might have withheld information that caused investors to lose money in six mutual funds. McMaster’s office, in cooperation with the SEC and the states of Alabama, Kentucky, and Mississippi, has filed an administrative action against Morgan Keegan & Co., Morgan Asset Management and four employees. S.C. investors lost more than $3 million due to misrepresentations about the mutual funds. All told, the six mutual funds lost $2 billion.
