Wade Hampton Memorial to be held April 10
The annual Wade Hampton Memorial Observance will be held by the Lt. General Wade Hampton Camp No. 273 Saturday, April 10 at 2 pm at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in the Keenan Chapel located at 1100 Sumter Street across from the State House. The purpose of the occasion is to honor South Carolina’s greatest war hero during the War Between the States, who later led South Carolina out of the Reconstruction era as Governor.
The guest speaker is Dr. David Aiken PhD, and a professor of English at the Citadel and the College of Charleston. He has written many books on the South including The Sack and Burning of Columbia.
