Mary Elizabeth Ward Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cushman Ward announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Elizabeth Ward to William Grayson Lambert.

The bride–elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leonard Briles of Columbia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wade Fitzgerald Ward Sr. also of Columbia. She graduated from Dreher High School and Wake Forest University with a BS degree in biology. She is currently employed at the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. She will enter the University of North Carolina School of Medicine this fall.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lanneau William Lambert Jr. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Olga Vernon Hair of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Mr. Lanneau William Lambert Sr. of Durham, North Carolina, and the late Mrs. Lanneau William Lambert Sr. of Durham, North Carolina.

The bridegroom-elect graduated from A. C. Flora High School and the University of Virginia with a BA degree in government and foreign affairs. He currently attends Duke University School of Law.

The wedding will be held at Shandon United Methodist Church on July 10, 2010.
