Mr. and Mrs. John Bell Caskey of Columbia are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elise McLain Caskey, to Carey Alexander Washington II, son of Dr. and Mrs. Carey Alexander Washington, also of Columbia.

The bride–elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Wannamaker Lane and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wannamaker Lane and Mrs. John Harper Caskey and the late Mr. John Harper Caskey. The bride–elect is a graduate of Columbia College with a BA degree in Early Childhood Education. She is employed by Bright Start.

The bride groomelect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Foster Hawthorne and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Lee Washington. He is self–employed as a tennis professional.

A wedding is planned for June 5, 2010, at Faith Memorial Chapel in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina.
