Mr. and Mrs. Michael Alan Burnette of Columbia announce the engagement of their daughter, Nola Elizabeth Burnette, to William Richard Taylor of Honea Path, South Carolina.

The bride–elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Preston Covington Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. William Melvin Burnette, all of Columbia. The bride–elect is a graduate of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School. She received a BA degree in studio art from Presbyterian College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in educational ministries at Columbia International University.

The bridegroomelect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mayer Taylor of Honea Path. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Lawrence Lee, Mrs. Lee Brown Taylor, and the late Mr. Taylor, all of Anderson, South Carolina. A graduate of Belton- Honea Path High School, the bridegroom-elect received a BS degree in animal science from Oklahoma State University. He is employed as a loan officer by AgSouth Farm Credit in Laurens, South Carolina. The wedding is planned for May 22, 2010, at Christ Church of the Carolinas.
