Alumni give to Dreher High School’’s permanent art coll ecti on
Designed by Blue Sky Class of ’56
A creative spirit was sparked by Dreher High School students’ beloved art teacher Mozelle Skinner and has continued with current teachers David Vandiver and Laurie McKee. Artists, all alumni of Dreher High School who contributed artwork to Dreher’s permanent collection, attended a reception in their honor March 25 in the media center. Thanks to the efforts of Carol Pittman, Class of ’59, who organized the project, the artwork will be displayed in the front hall of Dreher High School.
Becky, Class of ’60, and Kevin Lewis attended on behalf of their daughter Helen Hill, Class of ’87, who was murdered in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Hill’s film will premier at the Nickelodean.
During the reception, a check for $500 was presented from the Class of ’56 for the art program at Dreher.
The reception was hosted by the Dreher High School Foundation with Debbie Kinder and Sallie Boggs as co–chairs.
