Place a bid to name Riverbanks’ newest giraffe
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is providing its patrons with the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to name its newest baby giraffe. Guests should visit the Riverbanks website to place their bid. At the close of the auction, the highest paying bidder will receive the right to name the giraffe calf. The story behind the name choice will be published in an upcoming issue of Riverbanks magazine.
Bidding opened Monday, March 22, 2010, 9am and closes Monday, April 5, 2010, 9 am. Place bids at www.riverbanks.org. Bidders must be at least 21 or older. Bidders may return to place additional bids. Bids must be in increments of no less than $10. Any bid is considered intent to purchase. Within 24 hours after the auction closes, a Riverbanks representative will make every effort to get in touch with the highest bidder to secure the final bid payment. If the highest bidder does not respond within 24 hours, the bid will go to the next highest bidder. Once payment is secured, the winning bidder will receive rights to name Riverbanks’ newest giraffe calf.
