Miss Craig and Mr. Bates plan a May wedding

Caroline Castles Craig and Joseph Andrew Bates Caroline Castles Craig and Joseph Andrew Bates Mrs. Judy Rutland Craig of Columbia and Mr. Edward McIlwain Craig of Prospect, Kentucky, announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Castles Craig of Greenville to Joseph Andrew Bates of Greenville. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cole Bates of Chickamauga, Georgia.

The bride–elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Clyde Woodward Rutland of Columbia and the late Mr. Clyde Woodward Rutland and Mrs. Edward McIlwain Craig Sr. of Greer and the late Mr. Edward McIlwain Craig Sr. She is a graduate of Hammond School and Clemson University with a BA in communications and a masters in human resource development. She is a professional recruiter with Baptist Easley Hospital.

The bridegroom–elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ray Donald Bates of Haleyville, Alabama, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Calvin Myrick of Florence, Alabama. He is a graduate of Gordon Lee High School and Clemson University with a BS in Computer Science. He is in Network Security at Colinx. The wedding is planned for May 22, 2010.
