Kroger program donates $13,085 in food
Kroger’s Columbia– area customers and associates stepped up to help those in need with donations of $13,085 to the Harvest Hope Food Bank through Kroger’s 2009 “Can Hunger” program.
Kroger’s “Can Hunger” food drive, which took place November 15 through December 31, 2009, gave Kroger customers an environmentally friendly option of giving back to those in need. Under the theme Reach Out, Reuse and Reduce Hunger, customers who donated $2 received a reusable shopping bag for future visits to Kroger. Customers also purchased $1 or $5 icons that benefited “Can Hunger.”
“We are extremely grateful to all of the Columbia customers and associates who donated to the 2009 Kroger ‘Can Hunger’ Program, particularly during this economic environment,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Kroger thanks the Columbia community for its effort in helping the less fortunate.”
