Al l ison Hamada, M.D., has been hired as a new physician at Providence Hospital.

Allison Hamada Allison Hamada Chloe Schuler Jaco, AICP, LEED AP; Don Boan, CPA; and Ben Crooks have been named principals at Carter Goble Lee (CGL), an international company headquartered in Columbia offering consulting, design, program management, and facility maintenance services. Founded in 1974, CGL is recognized internationally for providing expertise in developing programs and plans for governments, justice, and correctional systems and facilities.

Attorneys L. Foster Girard, Ashley V. Myer s, and S. Ross Shealy have joined the Columbia office of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd.

The Columbia Police Department has promoted 19 officers from the rank of captain to investigator. Promoted officers and rank are as follows: Captains – Scot t Desrocher s and Der r ick K. Chloe Jaco Chloe Jaco Cocky’s Ready Express, a student founded literacy initiative at the University of South Carolina, has received the 2010 South Carolina International Reading Association’s (SCIRA) Literacy Award.

Dr. Sabrina Moore, director of the Office of Regional Services at the South Carolina Department of Education, has received the Governor and Mrs. Richard W. Riley Award of Excellence for advancing dropout prevention initiatives in the state.

Mungo Homes has received Regal Awards for two new product designs and for sales excellence by two community sales agents.

Don Boan Don Boan Bruce J. Pope, CLU, ChFC, CASL, a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, was awarded the distinguished National Quality Award for 2010. The NQA is NAIFA’s longest standing award. This award recognizes professionals for competence and dedication as indicated by their persistency records.
