Forest Heights Elementary School collects over 3,100 items for earthquake victims
Forest Heights Elementary Student Council organized a drive to collect items to help earthquake victims in Haiti as well as those in need in the Midlands. Led by student council advisors, Miranda Morphis (art teacher) and Robin Gooch (fourth grade teacher), students collected over of 3,100 items of nonperishable food, toiletries, personal supplies, and gently used clothing and shoes in just one week. The items filled an entire van loaded to its rooftop. This significant donation was divided and delivered to international organizations, the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, both of which have teams working in Haiti as well as ongoing efforts in Columbia.
