Pie–tanza brings jobs and pizza to NE Columbia
The new Pie–tanza restaurant at Polo Towne Center at the intersection of Polo Road and Mallet Hill Road in Northeast Columbia.
Pie–tanza Gourmet Wood–Fired Pizza & Italian Fare has opened in Northeast Columbia at the corner of Polo Road and Mallet Hill Road (843 Polo Road at the Polo Towne Center) creating dozens of new jobs.
Pie–tanza was started in northern Virginia in the suburbs of Washington, DC, by Ed McKee. It is known for gourmet wood oven–fired Neapolitan– style pizza, as well as salads, pastas, sandwiches, and desserts.
“We are excited about bringing new jobs to Northeast Columbia and becoming a part of the local community,” said McKee. “We were drawn to our new location by the vision of Polo Towne Center that is creating a neighborhood destination center for local residents that will bring hundreds of new jobs to the area. We wanted to be part of that.”

Located across from the Polo Road Park recreational facilities, McKee hopes the restaurant will be a staple of the community for years to come.
Jumping into that community, McKee has launched programs designed to give back to local schools and churches and is offering discounts to local business employees and Fort Jackson military personnel and their families. McKee has also made Pie–tanza a member of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
