Boy Scouts celebrating 100 years

Shandon United Methodist Church is the home of the oldest continuously chartered Boy Scout troop in the Midlands. Pictured at left are (l–r) Morgan Mitchell and John Metropol who received the Cross and Frame Award for their service in church ministries in the scouting program and Hunter Griffin, Scout master of Troop 37. The Boy Scouts of America will celebrate their 100th Anniversary with a parade on February 15 at 10 am. The 1000 block of Lady Street will be used as the staging area for the parade. The parade will travel west on Lady St to Huger St., north onto Huger St., west onto Williams St., and into the front parking lot of the State Museum.
