Newberry College, Midlands Tech formalize, expand programs for transfer students

Contributed by Newberry College and Midlands Tech

Newberry College and Midlands Technical College (MTC) have formalized an agreement that will allow a more seamless transition into Newberry College for MTC students who aspire to earn a four–year degree there.

Students served by the program typically will begin their academic studies at MTC. Transfer consideration generally requires at least 24 semester hours of transferable work for traditional students. While it is anticipated that students will spend at least a full year at MTC, students meeting Newberry College’s freshman admission requirements may transfer after one semester. The program will also allow Newberry College students who wish to earn associate degrees to reverse transfer courses back to MTC.

The agreement will also give MTC students increased access to Newberry College’s programs and services, such as Newberry College’s Bachelor of Arts Program in Organizational Management, which is offered to adult learners in the Columbia area.
