     David Sloan has joined the National Kidney Foundation Serving the Carolinas as the director of Development and Marketing. Sgt. Ricardo Colbert has received a Letter of Appreciation for helping out another unit with a Red Cross situation. He ensured that all of the proper paperwork was completed and approved in order to help the soldier leave theater in a timely manner.

Local builder bucks housing trends
      Mungo Homes has announced a 16.5% increase in sales in 2009. Although the housing market remains in a recession and building permits in Columbia were down 52% last year, Mungo reports flat numbers for permits pulled but is pleased with the significant increase in sales.
