Contributed by Richland School District One

Moved by the tragedy in Haiti, Richland One announced its plan to provide relief to earthquake victims at a news conference held Monday, January 25. Superintendent Dr. Percy Mack gave details about a new employee giving campaign “Richland One Responds –With Three Days of Giving.”

Starting February 2, Richland One will kick off what it refers to as its 3 for 3 donation project. District employees will be asked to give $3 (for a total of $9 per employee) for the next three pay periods to provide food, water and medical supplies for earthquake victims. Money will be collected February 2, February 16, and March 2.

“Richland One employees and students have tremendously generous hearts,” said Dr. Mack. “Many of our schools have already started projects to assist the victims. Together we can give even more money to help ease the suffering of many Haitians.”

Mack said 100% of all donations will be sent directly to the American Red Cross.
