The BMW Charity Pro–Am has chosen Sandlapper Society, Inc. as a designated charity for its 10th annual golf tournament. The upstate golf event has consistently been one of the Nationwide Tour’s top tournaments and most prominent fundraisers for charity in South Carolina.

The tournament will take place May 13–16, 2010 at Bright’s Creek Golf Club (Mill Spring, NC), The Carolina Country club (Spartanburg, SC), and host Thornblade Club (Greer, SC). All four rounds will be televised live by the Golf Channel. It is the only tournament on the PGA Tour’s Nationwide Tour where amateur/pro–celebrity teams are grouped with Nationwide Tour professionals in a four–day, better ball competition over three courses.

Sandlapper Society supporters can get involved, have a great time, and be part of the BMWCharity Pro–Am:

• Create a foursome of friends or clients to play alongside a Nationwide Tour Pro.

• Purchase credentials (tickets) from Sandlapper Society to watch the pros in action.

• Volunteer on behalf of Sandlapper and be in the middle of the action.

“We are excited to have been selected by BMW to be a part of this fundraising event. One of Sandlapper Society’s missions is to showcase our state and the BMW Charity Pro–Am certainly does a wonderful job of showing the world the beauty of the upstate through this tournament,” said Elaine Gillespie, executive director of the Sandlapper Society.
