As part of an international effort spearheaded by Pet Sitters International, the largest association for professional pet sitters, the Hungry Bowl Pet Food Drive collected pet food for local charities. The Hungry Bowl Pet Food Collection for Pet Charities brought in 991 pounds of dog and cat food for The Animal Protection League, Senior Resources Pet Program (Meals on Wheels), and S.Q. Rescue.

Donations were collected December 1–12 from A Dog Eared Corner in Lake Carolina, Bi–Lo at the Village of Sandhill, Mill Creek Pet Food Center at 8806 Two Notch Road, and Piggly Wiggly on Devine Street.
