Expectations building at Ben Lippen
Ben Lippen’s Emma Cummings
Despite having no seniors on last year’s Ben Lippen squad, Coach Cindy Cummings’ Lady Falcons’ squad still managed a 6–16 record and a spot in the playoffs that ended in a first round loss to Wilson Hall. Coach Cummings now has three seniors and expectations to build off last year’s success.
Elizabeth Hodges, Sarah Yeakel, and Emma Cummings are three players that Coach Cummings expects an immediate impact out of. Hodges, Cummings, and Melissa Pascutti provide the scoring threat, while Yeakel, Anna Beth Cook, and Patricia Pascutti provide a good post presence for Coach Cummings’ team. However, youth is still an issue the Lady Falcons will have to overcome if they want to improve from last year.
Coach Cummings is hoping for contributions from Lydia Wu, Hannah Austin, Jessie Little, and Abbey Stoker. Wu and Austin are ball handlers, while Little should help out on defense and Stoker with rebounding.
Cummings expects this year’s squad to finish near the top of its region, especially after what should be a tough out of conference schedule with teams such as Wilson Hall, Pinewood Prep, and Hilton Head Christian.
