Appearance Counts contest winners were treated to a garden party. Appearance Counts contest winners were treated to a garden party. Richland County Council and the Richland County Appearance Commission celebrated the 2009 Appearance Counts Contest Winners with a Garden Party Tuesday, December 1 at the County Administration Building’s new Garden Atrium located on the first floor.

The garden party, hosted by the Appearance Commission and partner Woodley’s Garden Center, honored those who worked to improve the county’s appearance through landscaping, revitalization, sustainability, and other “beautification” methods.

The two categories Richland County citizens could choose from to enter the contest were Front Yard Beautification and Sustainability. The sub categories of Sustainability were Community Garden, Creative Composting, Edible Front Yard Garden, School/Children’s Garden, and Water Wise/Rain Garden. The winners each received a gift certificate and poinsettia.

The winners are as follows:

Front Yard Beautification
