Genevieve Elizabeth Choate Nine daughters, one granddaughter, and three nieces were presented at the South Carolina Debutante Ball on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Forest Lake Club.

Receiving guests at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. David Christian Goodall, chairman of the board; Mr. and Mrs. David Malcolm Choate, president of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallace Salley, president– elect and chairman of the Ball; the debutante daughters and their fathers and the debutante granddaughter and her grandfather. The presentation of the debutantes was followed by the debutante figure led by Miss Genevieve Elizabeth Choate.

Christian Chandler Goudelock Debutante granddaughter making her bow was Miss Lauren Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Ms. Lynn McAlister Smith and Mr. Charles Laurence Smith and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wendell McAlister, escorted by Mr. Wesley Vondene Dasher III.

Seated at the head table were Mr. and Mrs. David Christian Goodall, chairman of the board; Mr. and Mrs. David Malcolm Choate, president of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallace Salley, president–elect and chairman of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Gavin Ward Jr., vice– president and co–chairman of the Ball. After dinner, coffee was served in the foyer.
