adapted by Mary and Andrew Arnault.

Brom Bones was ably portrayed by junior Nick Riccardi with proper swagger and a bit of a mean streak. Freshman Haley Claffy played Katrina Van Tassel with great confi- dence and flair. Sophomore Alex Jones played the ridiculous Ichabod Crane with proper quirkiness and junior Johannes Linnan turned in a solid performance as crotchety old farmer Hans Van Ripper. However, senior Kim Spade as Grandmother Van Rippe, stole the show with her over the top antics. Eighth grader Sarah Hurlbert and sophomore Grace Zimmermann provided solid anchors for the zany characters that shared the stage.

This year’s greatest challenge according to director Patrick Boos was the technical aspects of the play including scenery and blocking.

Senior Nic Smith acted as stage manager and, with the help of an able crew, carried off many difficult set changes and maintained the flow of the play.

It should be noted that none of this would have been possible without the tireless effort and guidance of Marshall Hurlbert who donated time, materials, and tools. Boos promises more excitement in the spring when the Card Players take on Shakespeare’s

Ma cbeth.
