Annual Vet’s Christmas Charity ride Sunday

The 9th Annual Vet’s Christmas Charity Ride will be held Sunday, December 13, 2009. The ride starts at Carolina Honda Powerhouse Store, 901 Buckner Road, Columbia. The ride departs at 2 pm rain or shine.

The 5,000 some bikers will ride to the Dorn VA Medical Center at 6439 Garners Ferry Rd. Each rider will bring a Christmas gift for a hospitalized or homeless veteran.

Join them at the VA to meet with some of the Veterans who are the recipients of the gifts. Donors don’t have to ride to participate. Gifts may be left at any of the All- South Federal Credit Union Branches or at the Carolina Honda Powerhouse Store.

Hot Dogs will be served from 10 am to 1 pm by the Boy Scouts. Please make a donation for the lunch and help support the Boy Scouts of America.

From I–20 East to exit 70, turn at Hardee’s and Flying “J” onto Buckner Rd. Carolina Honda will be located one half mile on right.

Entry fee is one wrapped Christmas gift tagged with contents and size of clothing. Cash and unwrapped presents will also be accepted.

The Vets’ Ride is state approved, Federal Tax ID #86–1118696. All gifts are tax deductible. All participants must be properly licensed. No alcohol is allowed on the premises.

Staff members who would like to assist are invited to come to D–100 at 1 pm Sunday.
