15th Annual Columbia International Festival Global Education Day will be April 16, 2010, at the State Fairgrounds in Columbia. We are offering students an opportunity to attend Global Education Day. This year’s focus is on the country of Hungary. We are excited about the educational and cultural learning tha students can achieve. About 60 other cultural/national exhibits will be represented at this year’s Global Education Day. The Columbia International Festival is a three–day educational and cultural event that celebrates the diversity represented within our state. The Festival seeks to promote understanding and appreciation of South Carolina's diverse population. It encourages genuine interaction among humanities scholars, native cultural “experts,” school children, and other visitors by providing an event that promotes ongoing cultural exchange and international understanding through literature, language, history, and anthropology, as well as food, music, and visual & performing arts of people from around the world. Global Education Day is held on the first day of the event for school children, their teachers and parents, to educate them about the variety of cultures that are represented in South Carolina. This main theme for this event is Travel the World Under One Roof. How to Apply: Visit www.cifonline.org and follow the links to Global Education Day's online registration. Confirmation will be a return email. Apply to the Global Education Day in Columbia on Friday, April 16, 2010. |
